Leanna and Drew’s greenhouse elopement at the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science was one for the books! Their evening was full of beautiful light streaming through the glass windows of the greenhouse, all the magical butterflies, and a stunning cake table surrounded by lovely florals.

The North Carolina Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC is the perfect location for a greenhouse wedding venue in North Carolina. With its unique indoor and outdoor space, there are plenty of areas around the museum to host your greenhouse wedding ceremony or greenhouse wedding reception. Just imagine having a butterfly house wedding ceremony – talk about magic!

Greenhouse Wedding Ceremony

For Leanna and Drew’s elopement ceremony, they said their vows to each other inside of the butterfly house. We chose a spot where the light was streaming in through the windows, and it looked like it was straight out of a Disney fairytale. As they said their vows to each other and exchanged rings, the butterflies were flying all around them. It was such an intimate and sweet moment, and I’m so honored I was able to witness their love for each other.

After their intimate ceremony, they celebrated with cake and a bubbly drink. The cake table was surrounded by beautiful florals. And plot twist – they were all faux florals from Wedding Flowers for Rent. The ground floral arch looked stunning, and you couldn’t even tell they were fake florals. Faux florals are budget-friendly and are a great way to save some money for your elopement or wedding day.

Leanna and Drew were so cute as they cut the cake and swiped some frosting on each other’s noses. After they enjoyed their yummy wedding cake, we went outside of the greenhouse and took some bridal portraits as the sun was setting in the background. It was actually raining all day, but all the rain cleared up just in time for their elopement ceremony and reception. We love a good weather day!!
